ShenZhong Passage | Speed Limit

The ShenZhong Passage spans 24 kilometers, with a maximum speed limit of 100 km/h. It connects Shenzhen, Zhongshan, and Nansha District in Guangzhou. Construction began in December 2016, the mainline was completed in November 2023, and the bridge load testing finished in April 2024, with its official opening on June 30, 2024. On its first day of operation, the passage recorded a traffic volume of 125,000 vehicles.

The passage includes a 6,845-meter-long undersea tunnel, with a 5,035-meter immersed tube section composed of 32 tube sections and one final joint. It is the world’s first eight-lane, bi-directional steel-concrete immersed tube tunnel.

According to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation, the toll fees for private cars with nine or fewer seats are 66 RMB. If using the YueTong Card for payment, a 5% discount is applied, reducing the fee to 62.7 RMB.

   From Zhongshan, take the ShenZhong Passage to the Shenzhen section, then via the ShenCen Expressway to Jinggang'ao Expressway for easy access to Huanggang Road and Binhe Avenue.
2. Shenzhen Bao'an Airport
   Located near the Shenzhen section exit of the ShenZhong Passage, accessible via the ShenCen Expressway.
3. Longgang District
   Use the ShenCen Expressway, transfer to the Shenhui Expressway, and exit at Longgang Avenue. Travel time from Zhongshan is about 2.5 hours.
4. Bao'an District
   After reaching the Shenzhen section, turn left onto the Guangshen Coastal Expressway and connect to Fuzhou Avenue or the Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway.
5. Huiyang District
   Drive via the ShenCen Expressway, Jinggang'ao Expressway, Nanping Expressway, and Shuiguan Expressway, then enter Lvzi Avenue and continue along Danzi Avenue.
