After much waiting, the new Tesla Model Y has finally been officially revealed. The new model features many new designs both inside and out, and the turn signal stalk has also made a comeback. The new car is now available for order on Tesla’s website. This time, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the new Tesla Model Y, a must-read if you are considering purchasing the new Model Y.
2025 Tesla Model Y|Exterior Changes
The all-new 2025 Tesla Model Y retains a similar body line to the previous generation, keeping the five-door hatchback SUV design. The most eye-catching changes are the redesigned front and rear lights. The slim headlights are integrated with the daytime running lights, resembling the Cybertruck design, making the overall lines cleaner and sharper, effectively reducing air resistance. The taillights adopt the design language of the new Model 3 with a through-type design. Notably, it is the first time using indirect reflection, utilizing the body’s reflected light instead of traditional taillights that directly diffuse light, greatly enhancing recognition and visual effect. Additionally, the original badge position on the rear is replaced with the TESLA lettering, and the first batch Launch Series features a radiant emblem on the rear.

2025 Tesla Model Y|Interior Changes
The new Model Y features a 5-seat layout with a minimalist interior style, closely resembling the Model 3 in dashboard and steering wheel design. Functionally, it shares the same features as Model 3, including new ambient lighting, a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, and an 8-inch rear touchscreen. Additionally, the front seats offer ventilation, and the rear seats have electric adjustment and can fold flat to greatly increase storage space. Regarding sound insulation, the manufacturer states the use of soundproof glass, but unlike Model 3, it does not emphasize 360-degree soundproof glass. However, the new Model Y responds to user requests by bringing back the turn signal stalk. Although the gear selector stalk is still absent, this greatly improves usability.

2025 Tesla Model Y|Battery, Range, Performance
The new Model Y is currently offered in Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range All-Wheel Drive versions. As usual, the manufacturer has not officially disclosed the battery capacity. However, it is reported that the Rear-Wheel Drive version has a 62.5 kWh battery, and the Long Range AWD version has 78.4 kWh, similar to the previous generation, so there is no significant increase in range. The Rear-Wheel Drive version has a WLTP range of 466 km, and the Long Range AWD version has a WLTP range of 551 km. The 0-100 km/h acceleration times are 5.9 seconds and 4.3 seconds respectively, with both versions having a top speed of 201 km/h.
In addition, the number of body casting parts has been drastically reduced from 70 to just 1, reducing gaps and making the ride quieter. The suspension system, which has often been criticized, has been updated in response to customer feedback. The manufacturer states the new Model Y uses a completely new suspension system, which is expected to improve ride comfort.
