Cashbee: Similar functions to T-money, also usable on public transport and for small payments. Previously more popular in southern cities like Busan, it has recently been promoted actively in Seoul, making its usage comparable to T-money.

For self-driving, since Google Maps does not work properly in Korea, it is recommended to download other map apps such as KakaoMap or Naver Map. It is best to save your intended destinations in the map app beforehand to avoid navigation issues without internet access.

Seoul Free Travel|New Power Bank Regulations

Starting March 1, 2025, the Korean government implemented new regulations on carrying power banks (external chargers) on board.

...

The new regulations build on the original rule (which prohibits placing power banks in checked luggage but allows carrying them on board) by adding stricter limits on capacity and quantity, as well as storage rules.

Under the new rules, power banks under 100Wh (e.g., 10,000mAh & 3.7V ≈ 37Wh, 20,000mAh & 3.7V ≈ 74Wh) can be carried up to 5 units. Those needing to carry more must get airline approval at check-in, and approved power banks will be labeled with a sticker for security checks.

Inside the cabin, to prevent the power bank's terminals from contacting metal, insulation tape or protective caps must be applied, and the power bank placed in a transparent zip-lock bag or protective pouch. Power banks can be carried on person or stored in the seat pocket in front. Even approved power banks are prohibited from being placed in overhead bins. Charging power banks in the cabin is not allowed. If a power bank overheats or swells, notify the flight attendant immediately.
